If something were to hit the earth hard enough and split it into two pieces or possibly more would there still be an ozone layer over the pieces?

If something were to hit the earth and split it in two, wouldn’t it cause a very powerful earthquake along with other natural disasters causing tons of damage and deaths?

Is it possible humans could survive something like this?

If not, what would cause us to die out, the supposed lack of oxygen or the natural disasters or maybe the inability to create resources due to panic and unpreparedness?

Chosen Answer:

The Theia collision that gave us our Moon, destroyed all solid surfaces (if there were any) anywhere on Earth. There is no fossil record of life prior to this collision.

You should assume that any interaction with another body large enough to split Earth in two, would kill all life, and scatter its atmosphere to space. No ozone layer.
